Why aren't you buying everything I brought in? What's wrong with this?
We go through every item and pick out what we believe will sell in a quick manner, we can not buy every item from every customer.
How do we determine what we will pay for items brought in?
Most importantly, we try to be very fair. Just keep in mind we are buying to "resell" The amount we pay for larger items, such as furniture and baby equipment is based on the retail price. Usually, we pay one-quarter retail. What we pay for clothing varies, depending on brand, size and product demand.
Is Kids Closet a consignment store?
No, we are not a consignment store, we buy items outright, therefore you receive your money immediately. When consigning items, you receive your money when the item sells. Keep in mind this is why we have to be extremely careful about what we buy.
Why so many rules?
We try to adhere to strict guidelines so our customers feel confident that when they shop with us they will be buying the best quality. For our sellers, this can sometimes be very disappointing or even upsetting, but as a customer you will have confidence that what you purchase from our store is in fact "NEXT TO NEW"!
I brought in toys and infant items that are brand new, Why aren't you buying them?
We wish we could buy every item every person brings in, but unfortunately that wouldn't make very good business sense. We get in a large amount of infant toys and clothes and believe it or not we sell the least of these items. We look at most of the infant items customers bring in, but to be fair, we take a few items from each customer. In some circumstance we are unable to buy anything. We have a certain amount of rack space for each size and when it is full, we can no longer take anything more in that size.
